I just moved into a new place. I've been waking up with bites on my arms, shoulders, legs, etc. The possibility that I might have bed bugs is making me crazy. My friend told me I was turning into Howard Hughes (except without the money). So, if it's not bed bugs, what the frell is biting me?!? I think I may have found bed bug harborages in the electric outlet & baseboard. There are also hard, black deposits on several places on the carpet where it looks like the previous tenant had the legs of the bed. Could they be bed bug droppings/harborages?
Yesterday, I found a spot of blood, on the side of my mattress, near the head, at the corner that's normally concealed by the side rail. I kind of freaked out, took the bed apart, & spent 2 hours steam cleaning the carpet. Do any of these pictures indicate that bed bugs might be present? Here are seven pictures:

I've been considering getting a bunch of nuvan strips, putting them all over the house & just leaving for a couple weeks
