I'm trying to formulate a plan of attack after finding about 10 bed bugs in my tiny 200sq ft apt in the past 10 days.
I have a "captain's bed" that looks like this:
I called an exterminator and it looks like he got rid of the bed bugs from the mattress, but I'm still seeing them on the walls, and I'm worried that there could be more inside the wooden bed, which is largely hollow. I got a mattress encasement, so I'm OK sleeping on the mattress for now, unless bugs are inside the bed and crawl into the bed. (shudder) Unfortunately, since the bed does not have legs (see the image), I can't use one of those "ClimpUp" entrapments.
I removed everything from the drawers under the bed and put it in garbage bags, but I'm worried because the garbage bags are not sealed like a giant Ziploc bag would be. Should I transfer everything from garbage bags to giant Ziploc bags? Also, how should I treat the stuff in the bags? I'm worried there could be stray bed bugs, nymphs, or eggs in the stuff which was removed from under the bed (now in garbage bags) .I was thinking of putting the stuff in the garbage bags in a freezer, but I don't know if there's an easier way.
As far as inside the bed, I have a real difficult time getting in there, even after removing the drawers.
