Montrealer2 on "EXPERT ID HELP PLEASE: Boring spider? Tick? False widow spider?"

Hello,
In the last week, I have found what I think are two similar insects (spiders?) -- both tiny, both dead, both on the floor near sideboards. The second was found just an hour ago. My imagination (and Google) are running away with me -- could the first (in the kleenex) be a dog or deer tick (possibly from the dang squirrels running amok on/near my balcony)?
Could the second - a shiny purplish bulby tiny monster - be a false widow spider?
Please help and advise. (Hopefully images are better than usual...)
