I have had this idea floating around in the back of my head since I had a bad bedbug infestation a couple years ago and had to hire an exterminator.
Part of the process involved me turning a shed outside my house into a heat room to treat nearly all of my possessions. After "cooking" 95% of my worldly possessions I had to isolate them from everything which had not been cooked yet.
This was a major hassle as well as turning my backyard into something resembling a refugee camp. I have no earthly idea what people who don't have access to or are unable to MacGyver something like this together do?
Leave there things sealed up for a year? Maybe draft the over and clothes dryer into duty to reintegrate their belongings little by little?
Trash everything they don't want and put the remainder in storage for a year to 18 months?
Gasoline and a match? Hope to convince the insurance co it was vandalism?
Would there be any interest from professionals in contracting with company which would pickup your clients pre boxed, and sealed belongings. Take them to a hermetically sealed heat room where they would be cooked at 120-140F for 12 continuous hours, after which they could be stored in a sealed environment for a reasonable time, and delivered back to the customer on the date and time of your choosing?
Those who may be interested in such a service, what would you reasonably expect to pay for such a service? Let's say for a typical 2 bed 2 bath single family home.
If any budding entrepreneurs out there decide to give this a go. Feel free to take a shot at it with my blessing. All I'd ask is that you preferably not live in the greater Phx area, and please share with me via email, pm, or messenger of your choice the process you develop, and especially any pain points or snags you encountered?
Thank you all sincerely, when Googling questions I've had about bedbugs I've always found good solid info from the posters and comments here. I hope this post isn't in violation of any of the rules? If it is I sincerely apologize.
