Do bedbugs leave shells behind? For the past week I've been getting bit in the night while sleeping. Usually more than once in the same area. They are itchy and swell for about fifteen minutes and then go down to a small faint dot. Then I saw a small oval shaped black bug on the wall but when I tuned on the light it was gone almost like it was never there but I'm almost positive it was. I've gotten a new mattress with a protector and new bedding yesterday but this morning I found a small what looks to be a darkish black shell. I've read that bedbug skins are transparent when they shed...could I still have bedbugs or is it something else? There were no telltale signs on my old mattress. I've cleaned my room top to bottom, gotten a new bed, and I'm still getting bit. What is going on?
