OBugs on "Bugs in a hospital bed - ?"

Not sure whether anyone will have come across this before, but I thought I'd ask just in case. I've explained elsewhere that my mum, who is more or less bedbound (around 80% of her day), lives with me, and that we have found signs of bed bugs in her room (and an ID'd bug in another room), and she is being bitten.

She is on a hospital bed with 2 pressure-relieving, air-pumped mattresses and various other gadgets. Has anyone come across bugs in a mechanical hospital bed before? While it would not be impossible for bugs to reach the bed via the air line to the mattress, there are nooks and crannies in the workings of the bed and the mattresses, as well as holes through to the inside of the hollow metal frame, where they could hide .... while the outside of the frame is smooth gloss painted, the inside of the moulding is not so smooth, so this may not be such a crazy thought.

I'd be so grateful if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with this. Given the potential for repeat infestation via careworkers in this room, I've been thinking of investing in a Polti CE - although I have no idea how to go about disinfesting a hospital bed!
