I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but the last time I saw a live bed bug was about 12 weeks ago. My 90 day warranty with my PCO ends tomorrow. I'm having a lot of anxiety about going back to "normal". Im still living out of plastic bags, too afraid to put my clothes back in the dresser.
This hell started for me the end of August- when I saw the first bed bug scurrying across the pillow. I nearly vomitted- PCO came a few days later and said we had a very mild infestation ("barely on the meter" were his exact words). A few weeks later- after the first treatment; I saw the second live one on our dresser across our bed (was a weird location PCO felt based on distance from bed). We had a second treatment then, but after the second treatment I saw the 3rd live one. PCO came out a third time about 7 weeks ago- and I have not spotted a single live bed beg since then.
Grand total of 3 live adult bed bugs, 1 dead adult bed bug, and 1 dead nymph- that I found throughout this whole ordeal.
Today as I was inspecting the couch- as Im still paranoid about bed bugs all over my house- I found a cast skin. I dont know how to upload the photo- but it may very well be a carpet beetle cast skin. Who knows? I tore the couch apart and didn't see any signs of bed bugs. I put another thin coat of cimexa along the baseboards and in the crevices of the couch none the less.
When does the paranoia end? What are the chances I still have a problem with bed bugs? Is it safe to invite friends over again?
