Where do I start? Ok, I shouldn't be obsessing about bedbugs as much as I still am because (1) the PCO said they were only in my son's room and no other rooms, (b) we had all our bedrooms and our living room treated (heat and multiple sprays) treated anyway, (c) I have never seen a bedbug in any room other than my son's room and the last one I saw was a dead one 3 weeks ago.

Here's where my crazy is leading me lately though: I have encasements on my mattress and box spring. I also have climb-ups on my bed legs. My room is cleaner than it's ever been. I have plain white sheets on my bed, which I compulsively check daily for spots, and which I launder twice weekly. So you'd think I'd be feeling pretty safe, right? Not so much.

I got two tiny mystery spots on my leg about a week ago, which led me to practically disassemble my queen-sized bed, with the help of my horrified son. I flipped the mattress off, flipped the box spring up, sprayed the frame with alcohol, cleaned every inch of it with lemon pledge, and in doing all this discovered that the encasement on the box spring had quite a few holes in it, from bolts on the frame and such. I also found a mystery spot on the underside of my husband's pillowcase (see other post for pics). I patched the encasement holes with gorilla tape and I plan to buy a better quality encasement soon.

During the past week, I've developed quite a few little spots on my face, some grouped together. They do not itch, and they could very well be little pimples, because of the heat/humidity, recent use of hairspray, etc. I don't know.

So here are my crazy questions: could bedbugs have been living inside my box spring, slipping out only to bite me in the face, leaving no trace save for a single black cross-shaped tiny stain on the underside of husband's pillowcase, no casings, no bugs in the climb-ups? And if so, where else might they be hiding? I'm nuts, right? Tell me I'm nuts, please.

Is there some type of active monitor that I can actually put in or on my bed frame, in case these phantom bedbugs are living in the bed with me (and not needing to cross thru the climb-ups)?

Someday, I'll be a normal person again, and not obsessed with bedbugs. Someday.
