We got confirmation from an inspector with two dogs today, after finding a live bedbug last night, that our holidays are turning into a nightmare. The issue seemed confined largely to our couch, our chair, and the wall behind the couch. We are going to vacuum, steam and treat with DE until the PCO can come out on Monday to start chemical treatments.
The whole reason I was moving the couch (and saw the bb in the first place) was that we are due to receive a new couch delivered tomorrow afternoon. We can cancel that delivery until after Christmas, and after the PCO has been here, but our concern is that, devoid of furniture and thus a food source, they'll start moving into the walls and trying to find us (in say, the bed, which so far has absolutely none of them.)
Is it better to delay bringing in and potentially infesting new furniture, or should we leave the bedbugs their source of food so they won't spread yet to other rooms???
Urgent because I'm running out of time to cancel delivery of the couch.
Thanks.
