Hello! I am currently living in an apartment building and unfortunately the building had an issue really bad and I moced in to it. From now on bed bugs will be my first and foremost thought when moving in to a new place even though I never even would have thought about it before. Anyways on to my problem.
My apartment building let the problem get very out of hand until they finally decided to treat it. I ended up getting them but the only way I detected them was one bite on me and a couple on my GFs foot as well as finding some nymphs in my climbups. I still cant see classical signs on my matrress or my new encasements (applied after 2nd spray). Eventually they decided to treat every single unit in the apartment building. They did two treatments (spread out over two weeks), After the first treatment there were two adult bugs in the climbup traps that remained alive until the second trap. These bugs remained alive until the second spray however after the second spray they were dead. It was clear they had sprayed directly into the traps to do this though as they were filled with white liquid. However the very next day I caught one on the interior trap that has remained alive for a long time. I also received one bite that night I believe (I do not react to them nearly as much as my GF). Clearly their sprays are not working very well as they also brought in the K9 2 days ago and it detected prescence of bugs around the bed. The K9 handler was unwilling to check my couch however which very much annoyed me. Since then I have also caught 2-3 more bugs but all at different legs of the bed and oddly enough all in the outer well of the climbup. This indicates to me that these are not coming from on the bed but rather an outside source correct?
Anyways I finally decided I have to get my life back in order as this has been another stress in what has been a very very tough school year for me. Added on to that my girfriend feels very uncomfortable in this apartment and moved out after first signs of them (so did I in fact but moved back after second spray) and we have since found a new place to move in to so we can focus on getting more stresses out of our life in the new year. We have decided on buying a new bed and matrress set anyhow (will make us feel more comfortable) but think we have decided on doing the mobile heat treatment option. We will only keep things we can keep in here. The treatment site claims that they have never had anyone have a problem after they have moved them and the say their process is to heat a trailer to 140 F for 12 hours which is much longer than a normal house heat treatment.
I am just still stressed over whether this will work. My couches cushions cant be removed and I am wondering if this will truly penetrate every crack and crevice? Also should I be cconcerned that the bugs seem to be coming not from the bed at all and rather some other source? If I put everything in the trailer it should solve this problem right? Has anyone seen any instances where the moving trailer option has failed? Im sorry for freaking out but I just really need this to be resolved. Thank you guys so so so so so much for your help!
