Hi everyone! I have been reading everything on here since I found 1 bedbug crawling in my arm in my bed!!! Yuck! Anyway my daughter and I have ripped everything apart and ripped the back off the box springs and of course we found nothing. But I am pretty sure I have bites. We deep cleaned the house and have thrown everything that is not needed out!! It's about 30 bags of old clothes mostly! Just getting ahead of the game for when the professionals came to inspect. I get treatment tomorrow. I had 2 places inspect and other than the one bug I saved in the jar they found no evidence of bed bugs?? One company (can we name them on here) said wait and see if you get more. The other guy said let's treat since you have possible bites. So that's what I am going to do tomorrow I am getting all my laundry finished and bagged. And a big vacuum with a shop vac around the baseboards. Both guys say I must have caught it early but I don't know if it's my skeptical nature or what but I feel they aren't being honest. They found no poop, eggs, or live bugs or hulls? But I am glad the one guy is going to treat. I threw out my box springs and ordered these metal platform things and encased my mattresses. The PCO said since they were already on just leave them because live bugs in there can't get out. But I really want the mattresses treated. Should I listen to him or do what I want?
Also can pillows get hot enough in the drier? I threw out any old ones but I have brand new ones I just bought before I knew this. ?
I haven't gone traveling for years (single mom working 2 jobs) but my ex husband and my son went to Chicago a few months ago and he's not taking me seriously. My boys stay with him every weekend. He also travels a lot he himself has made multiple trips to Chicago, Florida and an island vacation. He said he washes his sheets frequently and his house is crazy clean. I warned him to check because I don't want us swapping back and forth these lil critters.
Oh and I am a nurse and I work in 2 hospitals. And our clients sometimes have bedbugs. There have been 2 live bugs sighted there. So my PCO suggested a maintenance spray monthly.
If the chemical treatment doesn't work I am going straight for heat treatment. I have a PCo picked out for this. Does thermal treatment really work better than chemical? But how long do I give the chemicals to work? I will put down some DE myself if my PCO doesn't.
sorry there is so much I have to ask but I have no idea what I am doing!! Thank you so much.
