According to our PCO, we had a small infestation that centered around my daughter's bed. She does not react to bites but we know from other evidence, including a dozen or so live bugs found hiding in the bed frame - that she was being bitten. Our first of three treatments was on Christmas Eve and the third about a week ago. We have not seen a live bug since December 29th and found a little bit of spotting on her bed around that time. I have followed all of the rules about bagging, etc. I was feeling really good about it all until a few days ago when I saw two fecal spots on the side of a bed slat that I don't know if I missed with a previous inspection or not. I check for signs every day, but I am not super thorough (I scaled back after almost driving myself crazy). The check a few days ago was thorough - on my knees, flipping the mattress and using a flashlight.

A few questions:

* Are three chemical treatments usually enough for eliminating an isolated infestation when taking in consideration the lack of clutter and prep work? The PCO I worked with has a great reputation.

* Since I only found two spots, is it possible that there is only one bug remaining (if any at all)?

* If there are bugs remaining, will they eventually die off from crossing the chemicals on the bed frame? Is has been the focal point of each treatment.

* What is the likelihood that one or two remaining bugs could cause a reinfestation?

* What should I do next?
