from my understanding bed bugs are attracted to our co2 emission and heat, what if we were to use some sort of trunk-mask like those oxygen masks they use in hospitals, and have the trunk hang above a heating pad? the heating pad would be surrounded in a trap similar to a bed bug interceptor, where they stuck in an un-climbable moat. the heat from the heating pad would increase their metabolism and shorten their lifespan. would they still go for us instead of the trap due to our sweat/scent?
