This morning I was at my computer when I noticed a red blob on my shoulder, it looked like a red roundish drop of something, about 4 mm across, maybe. I thought "What? A huge scab? And tried to push it off. It didn't come off. At that point I thought: "Auugh! Is it an insect feeding on me? I tried to swat it twice and it didn't move. I took a paper towel and crushed it and =pulled= it off. It didn't just come off easy.
My question: would a bedbug behave that way or would it have run away? Do they attach like ticks? I have had experience with ticks where you have to pry them off, and this felt like that, but I am nowhere near tick territory now. Also, this was in plain daylight, in my living room.
I have the remains of what I squished, but it is too mangled to be of ID'ing use, I think.
