The bed bug infestation is mostly on my kids' room. They have a solid wood bunk bed with a trundle underneath. I read the FAQs and know it is suggested to get rid of the trundle. However, I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.
Between our treatments, about a week and a half since our last one and we'll schedule the next one to be a few days after, we want to clean the bed frame due to the fecal stains (eventually we will have to paint it once we know we're in the clear). It was suggested to use the wood oil to clean it, and while googling I saw on this site that Murphy's is a contact killer too. Great! This is going to be a LONG process, to clean every inch of the bed, which means taking apart each bed one at a time and cleaning it thoroughly.
I do have questions though...
1) Will the oil kill any eggs I may miss (plan to vac it really well first)?
2) What do you use to clean the rag off in between wiping the beds off?
3) How long does the oil dry before we put the bed back together and the matresses on?
4) Since it is a contact killer, if any bed bugs crawl onto it (or if it doesn't kill the eggs - when they hatch) will they die coming in contact with the oil? Or does it only kill them when directly applied on top of them?
Thanks for your help and advice! Much appreciate all the info
