I have attached some photos of what I think may be a part of a 3rd stage nymph bed bug based on the size comparison with the penny.
I have been suspecting bed bugs for approximately 2 months now, have had random bites here and there (small pimple like bumps) which could very well be folliculitis… They have itched for maybe a few minutes and were gone in a few days. These bumps or "bites" have been inconsistent, not increasing in frequency or size. Maybe 1-2 per week? If that. I know "bites" are inconclusive therefore I had an exterminator come in approximately 3 weeks ago but he did not detect anything that confirmed bed bugs. I almost feel after 8 weeks I would 1) see more confirming signs of bed bugs 2) have an increase in bite frequency and/or size...
Just when I thought I was in the clear, I found this part of a bug in my bed. I have found carpet beetle larvae and their shells through out my apartment, but no clear signs of bed bugs until now. I've torn apart my room plenty of times, checked my bed, box spring, everything. Took a credit card under the baseboards…. nothing!
TO ANYONE: Please, if you have a second to spare, could you take a look at this part of a bug? It looks like the back of a bed bug but I was confused as I found it solo in my bed, no blood smears around it, no other body parts. I know they shed and their cast skins are a paler color which is why I'm confused. However, not sure if the back of the bug may have ripped off while I was unconsciously itching in the night?
Please help me. Thanks.
