bedbugmadness121 on "bed bugs 19 months after initial infestation?"

ok, so i am aware that this is paranoid sounding, and at some stage u just have to get over bed bugs as a thing and acknowlege there are other reasons for blood in you bed, but i am kind of freaking out and need some input from others in the know.

so (just over) 19 months i had bed bugs and then also realised my partner had them at her house. we both went wild and got rid of them sucessfully, it was a super low level infestation and after the first round of treatments and everything we never had any more problems - except for the paranoia and madness of constantly checking our matresses every day and freaking out every time i got a mosquito bite.

any way, i have moved house twice since then, my partner has moved once (maybe 5 months ago) , and neither of us have had any bites, any fecal spots, any blood stains in the sheets, nothing. we stay at each others houses maybe between 2 and 5 nights a week, so our individual beds never go very long without someone in them.

last night i woke up to some blood on the sheets, i dont have a photo but it was spots similar to the ones posted here for ID-ing bed bugs previously. i have had huge reactions to the bites in the past, they make me super itchy for days, but again i have no bites ( i slept alone last night), but i have no bites on me. i also have no scratches or broken skin where i could have bled. i stripped my bed, inspected my mattress all over and checked my bed frame, again no fecal spots or casings or anything else.

i am super paranoid one has survived this whole time and somehow managed to get out of wherever it was stuck and has come feast on me last night. again, as i write this i know it sounds crazy, but i am wondering - i have read everything from 5 months to 18 months - could it still be alive? at what point can i stop being terrified? ugh!

any words of support or ideas would be welcomed, i am kind of at my wits end right now.
