I have been living with a relative for a while now. I went to visit a friend at the beginning of August and right around that time, I started to get bites at night. My friend said she doesn't have any bed bugs at her place. So at first I wrote it off as mosquito bites. But after consistently getting bitten for a few weeks, I finally contacted an exterminator and we found three live bed bugs on the box spring and one dead bug on the floor. My relative wanted to immediately dispose of the bed/box spring so I've been staying on an air mattress in another room for the time being. When the Terminix guys came to treat, they said they did not find any more indications of activity and it was possible that it had been male bed bugs only and not a large infestation. Today was the follow up visit and the guy doing the treatment said someone needed to sleep in the room so that the bugs could feed and we'd know there was still activity by the bites received. How long would I have to stay in the room to know if there was no longer an infestation? Unfortunately this all happened right when I was going to move to a new apartment and I don't know how to move safely to my new location without bringing bed bugs with me. Any advice would be appreciated!
