I am still getting red bumps with a small white spot raised in the centre all over my shoulders, my neck and even on my earlobe. The red bumps are of various sizes and are not itchy, but sometimes have a burning sensation. They look like they could be acne, but I rarely get pimples. When I do, it is not this many and they don't look like this. My son also seems to be getting mysterious bumps that look like acne. Being nonverbal and autistic, he cannot say if they are itchy or not. When I first started to notice the bumps, I had 4-5 bites over a week that were itchy. I have not been able to find a single clue of what is causing this. I have taken apart my ikea pull out couch (where my son prefers to sleep, and I often sleep with him) piece by piece and have not found anything but crumbs. I have looked all through my bed and found nothing. I did however find a blood spot on my pillow today that I used last night on the couch.
What I thought were feces was confirmed by two different sources not to appear to be from bedbugs. I cleaned all of the spots and dirt up under my bed, and nothing has appeared since. I have also given a flea treatment to my cat, although I have found no evidence of fleas.
I am not sure what to do. The only bugs I have found look like little brown and black beetles, they are long and slender. They have a black head and brown body with short antennas. I have only found two of them. One was found in the kitchen eating some sort of food specs on the hood fan and the other was found dead under my bed.
I would like to make sure people know I am not bothered or paranoid by bug bites. It is more of a nuisance to me than anything, but if we do have an infestation, I would like it to be taken care of as soon as possible before it gets out of control. It has been a month since I started to notice the bites/bumps. I feel like if I can't find anything, the cheap pest control company my landlord uses won't find anything either. I cannot afford to pay for my own inspection by the local bedbug K9 company.
