I started getting mosquito-like bites last week (one per day). I have since started panicking that I might have bed bugs, so I turned the entire bedroom upside down looking for evidence and cleaning everywhere. There are no specks of blood on the mattress, no shed skins, no excrements. I did find one bug on the bed frame, see attached photo. I managed to capture it in a plastic bag, and planning on contacting the local health department to ID the sample, but if anyone here can ID it in the meantime that would be incredibly helpful. Is it a beg bug or not?

- the bug is about 3 mm long, and is a solid brown colour, no translucency at all (the colour has stayed this way even after a full day in the plastic bag)
- it looks more elongated than the pictures of bed bugs that I've seen online
