On my previous post, I mentioned that I found a single bedbug this past Tuesday. I felt it bite my leg, killed it, searched my room (found nothing indicative of bedbugs). I had been being bit by something, about once every 3 weeks, but given the timing and the fact that the welt from the bedbug looks much different from the few other bites I've had (this has a deep red color and no blister), I'm inclined to think those were spider bites (had them before, looked the same) and the only bedbug bite happened on Tuesday.
Just a few minutes ago, it hit me that maybe that bug came from the car I've been renting for the last week? I was sitting on my bed when I had this epiphany and I immediately stripped it and myself (I was in the car today) and threw everything in the dryer, but today was the first day I've used the car since Wednesday and I'm nervous.
What's the quickest/easiest/best way to check to see if there's an infestation in the car? The interior is black, so I won't see feces. I think either way I'll probably call Enterprise and tell them I think there are bedbugs, but having proof would be helpful. It's in the 20'sF tonight, I don't know if that affects where they would be located (I won't be looking until tomorrow)?
I'm losing my mind a little over this. My skin is constantly pricking, like I'm being bit. I know I'm not, I'd be one walking welt if they were, but the idea that they could be here, on me or just lying in wait...they're definitely right about the psychological toll. I may not even have them in my house and I'm so incredibly jumpy. My heartfelt sympathy to everyone else, especially those who have an active infestation.
