yikes_bugs on "Size of climb ups impacts effectiveness?"

I was just in the process of buying more climbups. My beds have narrow legs but I use the medium sized 3 3/4 inch interceptors when they could easily fit on the 2 1/2 inch ones. I wonder if the effectiveness of the climb ups reduces if I use the larger one for thinner legs. Common sense wise it should not but I have lost a lot of common sense since bed bugs arrived in my life :)
