Hey, all. We bought a nice bedframe a few years ago with a headboard and mattress to match, but we're suddenly infested with bedbugs (probably from adjacent neighbors, given our moderately clean, isolated lifestyle). I have anxiety issues to begin with, and I'm one of the lucky people that gets skin reactions due to bedbug bites, so despite being tight on money I'd really like to do what I can to slow things down and get more than a few hours of sleep a night.
I've seen some great isolation ideas for traditional four-post beds, but I can't find anything for the type that sits directly on the floor and has drawers. I get the feeling this is going to be a lot harder to deal with, so I'm wondering if it would be advisable to get a four-post bed off of Amazon and throw our old one out (clearly marked as infested) so we can use the bed-post isolation devices. We also have diatomaceous earth, are drying things religiously, and are going to get the large ziplock bags for all our clothing. I think there are several other things we're trying as well. (Unfortunately we can't afford a full PCO, and our landlord isn't liable at all since we're in AR.)
We did get a mattress encasement and pillow encasements that should be here soon. If we toss our old bedframe and get the bedposts, should we wait until we switch the frames over to cover the mattress?
