To start: the building where I live has a bed bug infestation. I learned about this almost two weeks ago. Pest control has come by once and he only sprayed I one wall of my apartment because I haven't seen any bugs in my unit. He is coming again on Friday and the landlord told me my entire apartment will be sprayed, so I have from now until Friday morning to get things ready.
This has already been a major hassle. I've paid about $300 of my own money for cleaning supplies, trash bags, vet visit for my cats, and boarding them at a kitty condo. The space I live in is extremely small: maybe about 200 sq feet. I have a tiny kitchenette and share a bathroom with the other tenants on my floor. I have a fair about of stuff: desk, chairs, bed, dresser, books. Before the first treatment I threw out about five bags of junk: old clothes, etc. For this second round of prep, I expect to be throwing out more stuff. Also, the cats will be boarded again. One of the cats is so stressed, she's been spraying. None of us are happy.
How can I manage this in such a small space? How do other people manage? I got in trouble from my landlord for my place being messy last week because all the furniture is moved around, a lot of my stuff is stored in garbage bags, etc. I hate this. I'm very anxious and angry. I'm mad that my life is not my own now and that I keep have to continue shelling out money on supplies and cat boarding and probably new bedding. I just need some support.
Thanks.
