My fiance had been getting bitten at night, usually one or two every few days. Finally found a live bedbug, we searched for the usual telltale signs, but were unable to find anything. Regardless we purchased a steamer and I steamed the bed thoroughly. We have an upholstered headboard and bed frame. A couple of bed bugs came out from underneath the buttons in the divots of the headboard and I noticed just a few specks of blood, and discovered a little more buy a crease in the back. All in all I killed three bed bugs that I know about. I searched the mattress and box spring and found absolutely no evidence of bed bugs but steam them none the less. Is there a chance that we had a very small case of bed bugs? I'm assuming that I killed more that were hiding under the upholstery when I steamed it. But with the lack of evidence anywhere else would it make sense that I got the rest of them?
