Gemrising on "Bed Bugs Living in my Favorite Hoodie"

Now I am even less confident that the guy who inspected my place was correct in stating that I do not have a problem... only a few bugs. I was sitting at my dining room table watching Netflix. I had my favorite hoodie hanging on the chair next to me. I wear it often, but this is the first time I have worn in since it got a hot wash and dry a few days ago. It has been in my bedroom. My bedroom was inspected and blessed as bug free by the guy the landlord sent. I happened to look over and I saw baby bed bugs crawling on it. Near the collar part. Not just one baby. There were three visible to my eye. God knows how many elsewhere. I panicked and sprayed a copious amount of 91% alcohol on it. It started by spraying only the ones I saw. They died instantly. Then I put the hoodie on the floor and went insane. I soaked it. I happened to look just next to where it was laying on the floor and saw a dead adult. Which leads me to believe it (a male) was also living in my hoodie. The bright side to this is that any babies are dead, without a doubt. Does alcohol destroy the eggs also?? If so, any eggs on it are gone as well. Plus, there is a confirmed death of one adult male..which is one less of breeding age. So, that is all good.

It freaks me out that I can, and probably am, crawling with bugs at any given moment. Now I am paranoid that they are already all over my house. Which makes my treatment even more complicated. Can I DE dust my whole house? Like, is it safe for my cats to have that stuff on the floors they walk on? I wish I could just pay for a professional to come and only do the steaming process on my sofa and bed without having to buy a whole extermination package. This is starting to feel impossible. I am extremely upset how this whole thing works. I realize exterminators need to make money, but these bugs are out of control and will remain so until treating them properly is affordable for everyone. There has to be a better way...or system.. of handling this problem as a whole.

I always thought bed bugs were like fictional. Something grandparents said to kids to be weird. I miss those days. When bed bugs were not real.
