Hello all,
Any opinions would be very appreciated as I'm suffering a lot of anxiety over signs of BB's. A about 2-3 weeks ago, I noticed some bites - mostly on the legs, but 1 set of 3 on the stomach. About a week later, I woke up with some on the neck in 2 clusters. Not overly itchy, and fade quickly. They have continued, but again mostly on the legs and I have been sleeping with PJ pants since this started. Anyway, we live on a farm and have many animals including chicken/ducks. 3 dogs inside the home. Our belongings have been with us for years (the newest was an old buffet table from an aunt that's been with us about a year). We've not traveled in over a year or brought in any old/used clothing or furniture, not even been to a movie theater in over a year. My husband had a 2 night hospital stay about 4 months ago, that's it. We both work outside the home, in offices...though I do work with children a few times per week.
Here's what I've seen so far:
-Random bites for about 2-3 weeks only on me - none for husband
-2 small black dots (like a pen/marker) 1 on the top corner of the mattress encasement, And 1 on the BOTTOM of the box springs where in rests in the bed frame. Both stains came off with water and a washcloth, I didn't notice smears. Note: the mattress encasement has been on for over a year. I added the box spring encasement a week ago and already 1 black spot. We do not have a headboard, frame is metal.
-Black specks on white sheets, they are not sticking to sheet, simply laying there, I can pick them right up. They do smear/turn a bit rust colored with I rub them with fingers and spit on them.
-A few blood stains on white sheets along the side of the bed
-1 "possible" half bug casing? Not sure on that one. I wasn't sure if they usually break apart. Found in bed on sheets.
-NO live bugs ....yet
I've called a local certified BB dog today asking for an inspection. Again both box springs/mattress are encased. I have climb-ups on 4 of my 6 bed legs (2 are in the middle) and so far they are clean after 2 weeks. I have ordered a Packtite Passive monitor also, but waiting for it to arrive.
Pros: does this sound concerning to you? 
What would be your next steps?
My biggest fear is that we will not be able to get rid of the BB's IF we do indeed have them. :(
