Our 4th treatment was 3 days ago. Before the treatment we hadn't seen any bugs in 7 days. Yesterday, day 10 with no sighting... we found another one. It wasn't an adult bug, but also not a nymph. We killed it and it didn't appear to have fed recently. I went to our apartment manager and told her we need the other apartments inspected, she agreed.
The last 2 we have found have been up on the ceiling near the air vents. Also, in my kids' room (where the infestation primarily was) there were fecal stains along the ceiling/wall near the vents and over the bunk bed which is on the opposite wall.
We have sealed the outlets in our apartment, just in case. We don't know where they came from originally. The locations my kids' go regularly (granparents, babysitter's, etc) all were inspected and showed no signs. We suspect they began 4 to 6 weeks prior to us figuring out it was bed bugs... So it could have been brought home from school or a scouts camping trip.
I am happy they are having the adjacent apartments inspected because we need to make sure we aren't getting them from somewhere else.
I am so frustrated because, while it has definitely gotten better, I feel like this is never ending. We haven't seen anymore on the couches or the kids' bunk bed, (knock on wood!!), so I don't think we need to get the Vikane truck after all- please tell me if you think differently..
I am telling myself it is getting better, but it feels endless. Just when we start to think we could be at the end of the road battling them, another one pops up!!
We have thrown away (sealed and bagged) all wicker items, a few rugs, our dogs' beds, a ton of the kids stuffed animals and toys... I just feel at a loss.
