Any idea what this is? I found it in the glue trap in my office at work. Is it a cricket? Whatever it is, it looks creepy!

Found this little bug on computer desk, just randomly laying on the keyboard, I heard my local Walmart was infested and I panicked as I frequent Walmart. I asked my next door neighbor and he thinks it’s a roach but I want to be sure.

So after visiting probably about 100 sites and doing SEVERAL hours of research including looking at lab tests.

The story is really simple, I covered my entire house with DE without a mask or gloves (Just shoot me I'm sorry). Several people I know have done it this same way. After reading more about it while the powder was on the ground I decided to vacuum it up. I opened up all windows, doors and let the cats out. we vacuumed it all up right away and I am pretty sure my vacuum has HEPA filter.

Anyways, I do not need a lecture or tongue lashing about the proper use or about following directions. This was about 3 weeks ago, both my wife and I, we have not experienced any symptoms or coughing.

No breathing issues, or being light headed and I have an occasion cough maybe once every other day. Although after I keep reading about issues with inhaling DE, I have been coughing I think out of concern or anxiety.

All of the powder from the floor was vacuumed up but we did dust underneath the carpet and under the baseboards.

I have decided to just get rid of the DE.

I am not asking for a diagnosis or medical advice, I am just seeking an opinion.

Do you think with our exposure that it would be enough to cause serious harm, lung issues or silicosis?

Long story short, we got bed bugs after we moved into our very first home, though we didn't know HOW. This summer, 3 months after our last treatment, we realized the neighbors had a BIG bed bug problem, and I alerted the borough as they were renting. The owner had one treatment while they were still living there, another about a month+ later, which was about a week after they moved out. Owner put home up for sale 3 months after they moved out. We started finding dead bed bugs in our home (cimexa is my bffl now) 3 weeks after they moved, we told the owner who got very angry about this non existent problem. In the seller's disclosure, she omits the first treatment entirely, and only states that there was a single "preventative pest treatment done after tenants moved out, no activity"
The borough says it's not their jurisdiction, and won't do anything. I am fearful of being sued as I have zero authority in the situation, but also.... I just found another dead bed bug in my hallway, 4 months after they moved out. I hate thinking that some poor buyer will come in unaware and then resurrect the infestation.
What to do??

So, my daughter has had a rash on her feet for several weeks now which I attributed to either fleas or ants as she often goes outside to play in a sand pile at my mom's house. It looks like she got bit by ants, just a bunch of little red bumps. My mom started making sure she wore shoes and keeping an eye out for ants and nothing. Anyhow, started to get really worried that we had picked up some particularly nasty crawly as we did stay at a hotel a couple months ago. I have not found any bed bugs yet. There were a couple blood spots on the bed when her rash was at it's worst, but, she was scratching the rash until it bled.

I pulled apart the bed and bedframe and all I found was variegated carpet beetle larvae. I have yet to find an adult carpet beetle, just the stinking larvae. They were on my mattress (natural cotton) and on some feather boas that were stored in a cardboard box under the bed. They were also on a fur that was on the dresser and a fur purse that was in the living room. They were also on some natural cotton quilt batting that was under my bed. I found probably around 30 larvae total. Since then, we moved every piece of furniture, had the carpet replaced (it needed it anyways, it was old frayed berber) and I got all the mattresses into the zippered mattress protectors. My mattress didn't have a box spring, it's on a mesh platform, so it was very easy to inspect. I also had a feather topper that I threw out. I took all the drawers out of the dressers and dusted inside with DE. Saw some evidence of bug infestation, but, not fecal scales, it looked like the dust left by silverfish which I also have seen a few of. They feces didn't rehydrate but stayed a solid when water was added.

My kid still has a rash on her feet and hands. She got the rash on her hands when we started the cleanup efforts, I'm guessing she came into contact with the beetle larvae. I also have tiny red marks but some of mine almost look like scratches and feel a bit like I've installed insulation. Mine are on my hands with the exception of one on my hip that I think was a mosquito bite. It was a much larger bite and I'm fairly sure it's a mosquito bite as we have a ton of those near the house lately.

Is there any pattern to where bedbugs usually bite, wouldn't we have more torso bites rather than hands and feet? Is there anywhere else I should look for bedbugs? I saw no signs when the carpet was pulled up and the dressers are clean other than a bit of silverfish. I dusted the outlet with DE just in case.

Other than bites, I've seen no evidence really of bedbugs. I feel like I've pulled apart everywhere they could be hiding. Am I safe assuming we're both just allergic to carpet beetles? My spouse has no rash.

So I’ve been enjoying my life for the past few days after being cleared by the PCO and K-9 Unit. This is probably not shocking, but tonight I found what looks like a bedbug crawling across my sweater when I was on the couch.

I can’t believe how illusive these b*astards are. Now we likely have to fork out upwards of 1,000+ that we don’t have to get treatment and I don’t want to even sit on my couch or lay in my bed.

Attached is a photo of what I found. Can someone please confirm that this is a bedbug? Thank you.

Okay
4 1/2 weeks since I saw the last live one.
3 weeks since I saw the last dead on in a trap.
2 1/2 weeks since my third treatment.
No new bites on anyone.

My exterminator said it was okay to put stuff in the closet. But I'm paranoid.

Do you think it's okay to put my clothes back into my dresser and closet? I kept only the clothing I regularly wear and the rest were washed and/or dried and put in the attic.

Hey all,

I used Hot Shot strips (cut into small pieces) to fumigate a 4 sealed contractor bags with potentially infested items in them. I've had the strip pieces in there for about 3 weeks. They've been in a tape-sealed closet outside my bedroom.

My question now is if you guys had any advice as to how/where to air out the items once I open the bags. A little bit about my situation:

- I live in an apartment with a rooftop deck and a storage room.
- I don't have a balcony.
- It's snowing right now, so airing out on the rooftop will be hard (plus wouldn't I have to sit out there for like 24 hours?)
- I have a fan

I've considered putting it in the building's storage room, but don't want to hurt anyone that spends time in there. Would this even be a good place to air things out?

Any ideas? One of my biggest questions is how long I'd have to wait for the items to get aired out, happy to sit out there for a few hours but not 24.

P.S. Almost all of the items are not something that would be on my person. Things include: an Xbox, ipad, leather boots, miscenalleous trinkets, backpack

Hi
Just bought a new bed for my son in my new apartment and found these black spots.
Does it look like fecal stains? Any chance it's in the wood.
It doesn't come off.

I'm thankful for all inputs!

Thank you!

Watched the 11pm news and someone caught their home on fire, trying to get rid of bed bugs!! Second one in 2 weeks in my state. Both in the same city. Trust me, I wish I could torch it also but damn!! I hate having to deal with these things, just like everyone else on here and I wish there was a way to get rid of them for good. I just cant believe the extreme some people have gone to.

Help please on "ID please"

Can anyone possibly tell me if Temprid Ready to Use, works? Landlord has been using Temprid SC. He has been waiting 2 weeks between treatments. From what I have read, it should be retreated every 7-10 days. So I want to buy some. I have seen that the Temprid Ready to Use is already mixed. Can anyone give me some sound opinions and input? Thanks!!

Hi all, just a quick one from me! I bought bed bugs back with me on my luggage from France and proceeded to spray the bed frame, carpets etc with bed bug spray and also covered the carpet and bed frame in insecticidal powder which has been left for long periods. I threw out my mattress.

Call me crazy but I haven't slept in my bedroom now for 2 and a half years and have just left the powder down and played the waiting game. I know you're not supposed to vacate your room as they can spread but there has been no signs whatsoever of them in any other room. So my question is have I waited long enough for them to be all dead from starvation.

Heyo!

My PCO did a really thorough inspection this week and found no new live activity, though he did find some spots on a couch (I cleaned them and they smeared blue, not red, so I think they're just ink - we do have a big ink stain on one of the couch cushions), but this morning checking the Climb-Ups I found some more things that look like cast skins. Can anyone ID this, please?
