I thought I had fought the hard fight but this could be harder still. I am going o try and simplify this post. I found bed bugs. I called the landlord and he said it was my problem. I have lived in this apartment a year before finding them, therefore it was my fault and I had to pay. That is what he said.
If you type "slum lord" into google, the first 5 articles or pages ( in this area) are about him. I knew even before I moved in that he was a cheapskate and didn't care. So I called a friend who is a lawyer and he sent a letter outlining his(landlords) responsability bla bla. the landlord came right over. "You know i gonna take care of you. - I already call the exterminator. "" your friend don't need to sue me...... So I talked with his "extermnator". I set up appointment for diagnosis. When he came, I got the feeling he wasn't a professional but one of the landlords buddies/maintenance workers with a different hat. He mentioned he worked for the landlord in other capacities. Anyway I told him that I had made mistakes. Before I knew better, I had moved my mattress into the kitchen. Then moved my boxspring into the bathroom. Then moved them both outside. He said "no problem" He outlined a treatment plan much like the ones I read on this site. I asked him to email me the instructions. He said no problems, then he didn't. When I called him he said he couldn't (some lame excuse) "just pack all your clothes in bags and take to the laundry don't unpack until after the second treatment" He said to throw out what I could. He would treat the rest. He came back 10 days later to do the treatment. He decided the apartment was too small( studio) to do the whole place at once and only did bedroom/livingroom. He came back again 2 weeks later to spray a second time 1 room only. He came again 2 weeks later to spray kitchen and bathroom only. I told him I was still fnding evidence on my new bed with encasements, but he convinved me to trust the process.
I started to get bitten alot and see nits all over me like they were appearing out of the blue. I started to think I had bird mites and what all. I called an extermination company I got from this site and he came right over. As I was telling him what had taken place he took my bed apart and said NO EVIDENCE OF BED BUGS. or bird mites. I pointed out a few things and he said "thats nothing, lint or a speck of dirt" and waved his hand as to dismiss that idea. Well of course the bed had no evidence. It had encasements and I was vacuuming every 3 hours. BUt I was getting bit by something and where were all of these nits or nymphs coming from? I called the bug guy back and he was in the neighborhood so he ndropped by and did exaclty the same thing the other guy did. Took my bed apart to look there same. Then I noticed I was getting bit in the bathroom room and noticing bugs in the shower and after I showered. My towels had bed bug poop on them fresh out of the cabinet. Then new bites when I woke up. When I open the door to catch the sunlight and morning breeze poof there are again, larger , later stages. Are they blowing down off my popcorn ceiling?? ( he did not treat walls or ceiling) My hair is all sticky. Nits in my hair. There are bumps on my scalp too. Since they both said that what I had was not bedbugs. Too small to be bedbugs I did not know what to say. I am going crazy. What do you do when your Exterminator tells you there are no bugs when you know there are?
